“Personal Information” refers to information about individual Customers with descriptions that can identify specific individual Customers, including address, date of birth, age, gender, telephone number, email address, contract numbers of retail supply contracts and power purchase contracts (“Retail Supply Contracts”) , place of employment. Even if a piece of such information alone does not identify any individual, such piece of information will be included as Personal Information; provided that such piece can be easily cross-referenced with other pieces of information to ultimately identify an individual Customer.
3.Purpose of Use
The purposes for which we handle Personal Information are as follows:

4.Methods of Acquiring Personal Information
We acquire Personal Information by appropriate means and do not obtain any Personal Information through deceit or other improper methods against the will of Customers.
5.Management of Personal Information
We manage Customers’ Personal Information properly and securely and, as a general rule, do not provide Customers’ Personal Information to third parties without the consent of Customers; provided, however, that this does not apply in the following cases where:
- Statistical data is disclosed for the purpose of providing statistical information by collecting or analyzing individual Personal Information and processing such Personal Information into a form that cannot identify any individual.
- Such provision is necessary for the protection of human life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual concerned.
- Such provision is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual concerned.
- It is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an entity entrusted by either of them to carry out duties prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual concerned might hinder the implementation of such duties.

- (i) To conclude, modify, or terminate contracts for wheeling services or electricity quantity adjustment services (hereinafter referred to as “wheeling service”) .
- (ii) To carry out termination procedures of the retail supply contracts (including contracts for isolated island supply and last resort supply) or Retail Supply Contracts.*6
- (iii) To confirm information about service (or receiving) points.
- (vi) To perform tasks related to the measurement of electricity consumption, maintenance, inspection, or replacement of equipment, investigation of equipment in the event of power outages or disasters, and other duties based on Retail Supply Contracts carried out by the general electricity transmission and distribution utility and the distribution utility.
- (v) To execute tasks related to negawatt trading.
- (vi) To provide notification and billing services of estimated value regarding system integration receiving service fees (generation-side fees) .

Not all personal information will be shared with all of the joint users including electricity retailers, general transmission and distribution utilities, demand restraint contractors, and distribution utilities.
- General transmission and distribution utilities refer to utilities registered with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, including those registered under the supplementary provisions of the Act partially amending the Electricity Business Act (Act No. 72 of 2014) that are not subject to refusal for registration under the Electricity Business Act (Act No. 170 of July 11, 1964).For the names and addresses of operators, please refer to the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy's website.)
- General transmission and distribution utilities include,Hokkaido Electric Power Company, Inc.,Tohoku Electric Power Network Company, Incorporated,TEPCO Power Grid, Incorporated,Chubu Electric Power Grid Co.,Inc.,Hokuriku Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Company,Kansai Transmission and Distribution, Inc.,Chugoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Company, Incorporated,Shikoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Company, Incorporated,Kyushu Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Company, Incorporated, andThe Okinawa Electric Power Company, Incorporated.
For names and addresses of the utilities and the names of their representatives, please refer to each utility’s websites. - Demand restraint contractors refer to those that are parties to contracts for adjustment of demand restraint volumes with general transmission and distribution utilities. - “Termination procedures for retail supply contracts” refers to the process whereby new electricity retailer applies to terminate an existing contract on behalf of the customer when the customer applies for a new retail supply contract.
8.Disclosure of Personal Information
If we are requested by Customers to notify them of the purpose of use of Personal Information, to disclose, correct, add, or delete Personal Information, to suspend its use, to stop its provision to third parties, or to erase (collectively, “Disclosure of Personal Information”), we will respond to such request of Disclosure of Personal Information through separately designated procedures (please contact DIGITAL GRID’s inquiry desk listed in this Privacy Policy for specific instructions as to how to make such request); provided, however, that in cases permitted by Law, we may refuse all or part of the request for Disclosure of Personal Information.
9.Third-Party Advertising

In connection with this, such third parties might acquire and use Cookie information and other data from Customers who visit this site. - Customers may select settings related to the sending and receiving of Cookies. Please note that if all Cookies are disabled, certain internet services that require authentication might not be accessible and usage of various online services can be restricted.
10. Use of Google Analytics
- This site uses Google Analytics, a tool provided by Google LLC. In using Google Analytics, this site may collect, record, and analyze Customers’ visit histories, and may use Customers’ Cookie information for this purpose.
- We will receive statistical information from Google LLC based on analyses of Customers’ visit histories through the use of Google Analytics. We use such statistical information to understand trends in Customers’ interests in the Services and to improve the structure, specifications, and other aspects of the Services.
- We do not collect information that can identify individual Customers in using Google Analytics. Furthermore, the statistical information provided to us by Google LLC does not include any information that can identify individual Customers.
- Customers may stop the collection of their information by Google Analytics through the add-on settings of the browser they use to view this site. Customers can disable Google Analytics by downloading and installing the “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” from the opt-out add-on download page provided by Google LLC, and then change the browser’s add-on settings. Please note that if Customers disable Google Analytics, it will be disabled not only on this site but also on other websites they visit. However, Customers may re-enable Google Analytics by resetting the browser add-on settings.
